EDUCATION

Currently attending ASU pursuing a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies degree in Business and communication.

Attended EVIT Cosmetology in Mesa, Arizona between the years 2004-2006; attained the state cosmetology license.

Attended Mesa Community College in Mesa, Arizona between the years 2004 to 2006, studying general studies. Achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.5 and acquired twenty-four college credits while in high school.

Attended Westwood High School in Mesa, Arizona for three years between the years of 2003 to 2006; graduated and obtained the Scholastic Diploma (highest diploma) and gold seal (due to volunteer hours); achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.5.

            Member of the AVID, Gear-up and REACH programs at Westwood High School in Mesa, Arizona; obtained scholarships to a four year University and college credits while still in high school because of my participation in the programs.

 

EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

            Stylist—Fantastic Sams, 2801 Coors Rd. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120. Duties include: cutting, perming, coloring and styling hair, doing the register, cleaning, opening and closing store.

            Nanny/Housecleaner-- for a wonderful family in Scottsdale, Arizona from October 2007 to September 2008. I worked for the family for about one year but had to leave because of my recent marriage and move to New Mexico. I loved my job; they became part of my family as did I to them. My duties included: tending four children from ages 2-12; mainly responsible for the two boys ages two and twelve, with the disorder Muscular Dystrophy; yet I tended all four children.  I was responsible for feeding, changing, playing, bathing, doing the babies stretches and therapy (speech, physical, occupational, feeding) while the other children were at school. I was also responsible for the older children, I had to feed them help with their homework, drive them to places, put them in bed, reading, etc. In addition,  the laundry, cleaning the kitchen, hallways, children’s bedrooms, living room, deep cleaning when needed, ironing, meal preparations, cutting pills, dispensing medications and other supplements, older child’s PT.

            Hair Stylist—for Smart Style Hair Salon in Mesa, Arizona from September 2006 to September 2007. My duties included: cutting, coloring, perms styling, shampooing, highlighting hair; closing and opening store, taking money to bank, cashier, selling products, cleaning the salon, inventory, laundry, etc.

            Receptionist/Hair Stylist—Unisex Barber and Beauty in Mesa, Arizona for two years and a half. I started as a receptionist for the salon and my duties were the following: cashier, customer service, keep salon clean, sweep hair, assist stylists. As a licensed cosmetologist my duties included: cut men and women’s hair, perm, color, and style hair.

 

Volunteer

            I was an ER volunteer for Banner Mesa Medical Hospital in Mesa, Arizona between the years 2004 to 2006. My duties included: making the beds, disinfecting area around the beds, bringing food to patients, keeping patients company, running errands for doctors, and the like.

            I volunteered at my junior high in the Special ED department for about two years through the AVID program. As a volunteer I was specifically responsible for students with Autism and Down syndrome. I went into the classrooms during school for about one to two hours per week to help the students with developmental activities and homework. I also played games with them, assisted them in whatever was needed, read to them, and went on field trips with them
